ABOUT ALAN BATEMAN & THE ISSUES

IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE WASHINGTON, CHANGE CONGRESSMEN

Washington politicians have become corrupt and no longer represent you. Congress is ignoring the Constitution and is beholden to special interests and party elites. This is resulting in millions of Americans losing their jobs and threatening the future of our children and grandchildren.

YOUR SUPPORT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY

I am going to Washington to represent the People. Therefore, my support must come from you, the People. Please make an on-line donation and sign-up to volunteer. Your contribution will go towards getting the word out about my campaign, educating the people on the issues and building grassroots support.

My opponent is fully funded by Washington special interests and does not need you. Politicians who do not need your support, will not represent you. Chris Smith has shown this through his voting record by turning his back on the People and only representing Washington special interests.

CONGRESSIONAL RECORD OF FAILURE

Congress’ Bad Judgment has resulted in:

  • Trillion dollar deficits
  • Collapse of the housing and financial markets
  • Government take over of the banking and automobile industries
  • LOSS OF TENS OF THOUSANDS OF JOBS IN NEW JERSEY

What does Congress have in store for you next?

  • Cap and Trade – The largest tax increase in American history passed in the House of Representatives in June 2009. This bill will lower your standard of living by raising the price of every product you use or consume. It will raise your energy bills making it more expensive to heat your home and buy gas for your car. Cap and Trade will cause the loss of hundreds of thousands of American jobs.
  • Healthcare – Congress intends to take over healthcare, one sixth of our economy. Costs will skyrocket resulting in rationed care and lower quality services.
  • Card Check - Strips workers of their right to vote on joining a union. Instead workers would be required to publicly sign a card in the presence of union organizers, leaving them vulnerable to threats, harassment, and abuse. It also gives control of the workplace to government bureaucrats.

WHERE DOES 30-YEAR INCUMBENT AND WASHINGTON INSIDER CHRIS SMITH STAND?

  • Liberal Voting Record – One of the most liberal Republicans in the House (American Conservative Union).
  • Cap and Trade - One of the eight Republicans to vote for Cap and Tax. Cap and Tax will result in the loss of over 30,000 jobs in New Jersey (Heritage Foundation).
  • Card Check – Smith actually sponsored and voted for this job killing bill in exchange for campaign contributions from unions. Card Check would reduce job opportunities by 765,000 potential jobs (Heritage Foundation).

ALAN BATEMAN’S PLEDGE TO THE PEOPLE

I, Alan Bateman, believe in standing up for individual liberty and prosperity that will only come from a strong adherence to the Constitution and Free Markets.

I believe in standing up for all life from the unborn to the elderly and that marriage is between one man and one woman.

I believe in defending your individual right to keep and bear arms.

I believe in a balanced budget and therefore will vote for a freeze in government spending until that goal is realized.

I believe in promoting fiscally conservative policies that will allow for lowering tax rates.

I believe the takeover of the banking, healthcare and auto industries is a dangerous move towards socialism and will lead the fight against nationalizing our economy.

I believe more than four decades of US dependency on foreign oil is a travesty therefore I will support an energy plan that calls for immediately increasing usage of all domestic resources including nuclear energy, oil, natural gas and coal as necessary.

I believe in the sovereignty and security of our country and therefore will support measures to close our borders except for designated immigration points so we know who is entering and why and I will vehemently oppose any measure giving another country, the United Nations or any other entity power over US citizens.

I further pledge to the voters that, if elected, I will fight each and every day to turn these beliefs and values into the law of the land and to never run away, betray or abandon our core conservative founding principles.
